USAID Promote Program
The USAID Promote Project is a five-year program consisting of four separate Task Orders targeting the education, promotion, and training of a new generation of Afghan women.
With the goal of increasing women’s contribution to Afghanistan’s development, Promote strengthens women’s rights groups, boosts female participation in the economy, increases the numbers of women in decision-making positions within the Afghan Government, and help women gain business and management skills.
USAID DAI Women in the Economy project (WIE) is a USAID-funded program. It partners with Afghan women, with women-owned businesses or businesses that employ at least thirty percent women.
USAID DAI Women in the Economy project works with job seekers, businesses, financial and training institutions, and many other stakeholders. WIE’s paramount goal is to help Afghan women make investments in their own success and enter the mainstream Afghan national economy.
DAI – Shaping a more livable world
I would like to thank all the people of DAI in Washington and in Kabul for giving me this extraordinary opportunity and for sharing this unparalleled experience.

Since 1970, DAI has worked in more than 150 countries and delivered results across the spectrum of international development contexts. From stable societies and high-growth economies to challenging environments racked by political or military conflict.

Alberto Zavatta’s tasks with Women in the Economy
Being part of this vision is a challenge and a great honor. I had the chance to meet with a team of enthusiastic people, have talks with local companies (run by women and/or with a relevant female workforce) and evaluate with them the possibilities of growth for the future.
I started offering my training sessions on communication, branding and packaging and corporate design to an audience of MBA students and entrepreneurs. A training that will continue for the coming months. It will also see the participation of Italian guests, women who testify the value of female work and professionalism.
It will be an intense activity, not always easy, but with an enormous potential. Women will be at the very center of my commitment and at the heart my journey with “Women in the Economy”.
There is much to do. We will do it.
